League Two roundup: Luton Town, Shrewsbury Town close gap on Wycombe Wanderers

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League Two action as Luton Town and Shrewsbury Town close the gap on leaders Wycombe Wanderers.

Luton Town and Shrewsbury Town have closed the gap on league leaders Wycombe Wanderers down to just two points after the Chairboys failed to break Accrington Stanley.

Luton comfortably dispatched Newport County as Luke Wilkinson and Luke Rooney scored in either half.

Wycombe failed to extend their lead at the top, as Sean Maguire cancelled out Paris Cowan-Hall's opener in the second half.

Shrewsbury moved up to second with a late Andy Mangan strike to move level on points with Luton.

Reuben Reid's brace and Bobby Reid's goal sealed a comfortable win for Plymouth Argyle over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Carlisle United move two points clear on the relegation zone with a 2-1 victory over Northampton Town.

Hartlepool United kicked off their new regime under new owners with a point, after Danny Hylton answered back to Joe Ironside's opener for the North-East side.

Ten-man Mansfield Town held on to all three points after Vadaine Oliver broke the deadlock minutes after the restart against AFC Wimbledon.

Bury failed to move into the playoff places after they surrendered a two-goal lead to York City.

Exeter City suffered their first defeat in 10 games after Stevenage's Charlie Lee scored the only goal of the match within the last 10 minutes.

Cheltenham Town and Portsmouth share the points after Nigel Atangana and Omari Sterling-James got on to the scoresheet.
