World number one Novak Djokovic has said that his win over Richard Gasquet was "close to perfection".
The Serbian advanced to the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup after beating the Frenchman 6-1 6-2 in Montreal.
"In every part of my game I was at my best," Djokovic told reporters.
"From the start of the match I tried to dictate the play on the court and be in control of the rallies. I did it really well, as close to perfection as you can be really."
Djokovic will play Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals.
