Victoria Azarenka brushes off Agnieszka Radwanska to reach Madrid final

World number one Victoria Azarenka continues her blistering 2012 form by reaching the final of the Madrid Open with a 6-2 6-4 victory over Agnieszka Radwanska.

World number one Victoria Azarenka has moved through to the final of the Madrid Open after a straight-sets victory over Pole Agnieszka Radwanska this morning.

The 22-year-old, who has only lost on one occasion in 2012, broke three times in the opening set, claiming a 6-2 success that was largely down to her solid groundstrokes.

Azarenka's first serve also proved too much for Radwanska, with the Belarusian winning all but one of the points when her first delivery found the box.

The second set was a much tighter affair with Radwanska, 23, sticking with her opponent until the seventh game.

Azarenka made the crucial breakthrough at 3-3 but this time couldn't properly convert it, allowing Radwanska to break straight back in the next.

Unfortunately for Radwanska she couldn't hold off the bullish Azarenka who again broke and this time held serve to seal the win in a little under 80 minutes.

Azarenka will face the winner of the second semi-final between surprise package Lucie Hradecka and Serena Williams in tomorrow's final.
