Janko Tipsarevic delighted with win over Lleyton Hewitt

Janko Tipsarevic believes that he came through the toughest first-round match possible with flying colours after claiming a straight-sets victory over Lelyton Hewitt on day one of the Australian Open.

Janko Tipsarevic has declared that he had to fight hard and show his best form but is delighted to beat Lleyton Hewitt on day one of the Australian Open.

The eighth seed was in trouble early on against the experienced Australian but turned on the accelerator to claim an impressive straight-sets win over the former Grand Slam champion.

Tipsarevic believes that he had the hardest draw possible to kick things off in Melbourne but feels that he is coming into form at just the right time.

He told reporters: "Playing Lleyton in the first night session is tough as it gets but I'm really happy I managed to win in three sets.

"I think I played very, very good at the end of the first set. I got lucky but took my chances and then gained control in the third set.

"I'm not sure why but since I got married I produced my best form, so guys and girls you know what to do if you want to play your best tennis."

Tipsarevic faces an-all European clash in the next round when he takes on Slovakian competitor Lukas Lacko.
