World number one Novak Djokovic was forced to come from a set down once again to defeat Juan Monaco 4-6 6-2 6-2.
The Serbian was put on the backfoot by his opponent in the opening set after he was broken convincingly by Monaco, who looked comfortable on the clay surface.
While Djokovic attempted to get his way back into the set, he was resigned to taking the deficit, with Monaco needing to keep up momentum in order to see off the Serbian.
It wasn't to be as Djokovic began to show his trademark athleticism and damaging shots to nab an early break of serve and push on to draw level on sets.
The deciding set started off perfectly for the top seed as he broke his opponent the first time of asking and soared to a three-to-love lead.
While Monaco was able to put two games on the board, it was Djokovic's day as he booked a place in the final eight of the tournament.
