Dan Cox misses out on French Open

Great Britain's Dan Cox misses out on a place in the main draw of the French Open after losing to Italy's Paolo Lorenzi in the final qualifying round.

British number four Dan Cox has failed to qualify for the main draw of the French Open.

Cox had progressed through two matches to move through to a clash with Italy's Paolo Lorenzi, with the winner earning a spot among the world's elite at Roland Garros.

However, Cox, who is placed 222nd in the world rankings, soon fell behind to the number one seed, losing the opening set 6-3.

The 23-year-old went a break up in the second, but Lorenzi fought back to take the set on a tie-break.
