The French Open quarter-final between Kei Nishikori and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is delayed after high winds cause part of the stadium to collapse on spectators.

The French Open quarter-final between Kei Nishikori and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was delayed for 30 minutes earlier this afternoon after high winds caused part of the stadium to collapse on spectators.

A number of fans were forced to evacuate their seats when a metal sign became dislodged and fell onto them during the second set.

Reports have suggested that no-one was seriously injured during the incident.

Nishikori and Tsonga went back to the locker room when it became apparent that play would not be resumed quickly, though they later emerged to continue the match.
