The French Tennis Federation have confirmed that Richard Gasquet will take on Roger Federer in the opening singles rubber in Lille this afternoon.
The home side, who trail 2-1 heading into the last day of the Davis Cup final, were expected to pit Jo-Wilfried Tsonga against the world number two.
However, with two hours to go until the match gets underway, it has been revealed that Gasquet will take Tsogna's place on the clay.
In the 14 previous meetings between Federer and Gasquet, the Swiss player has a winning record of 12-2.
It has been reported that Tsonga's withdrawal is down to an arm injury, although there has been no official confirmation from the French camp.
