Stanislas Wawrinka has booked a place in the quarter-final of the Cincinnati Open with a straight-sets victory over Kei Nishikori.
The Swiss rarely looked trouble throughout the match, and went on to win it comprehensively 6-3 6-3.
Nishikori handed his opponent a break as early as the first game, and although he broke back for 4-2, he was never in the driving seat.
Unstoppable serves, bold ground strokes and double-faults from Nishikori gifted Wawrinka a break early in the second set for 3-0, and he held steady before clinching it with a glorious backhander.
Wawrinka will take on either Milos Raonic or Tomas Berdych in the quarter-final.
