World number one Novak Djokovic progressed to the second round of the Australian Open on Tuesday with a 6-3 6-2 6-4 victory over Aljaz Bedene.

While the straight-sets win suggests that it was plain sailing for the four-time champion, Djokovic has admitted that he was stretched more than he anticipated by the largely unknown Slovenian qualifier.
