Scotland head coach Andy Robinson has backed his players to bounce back from Sunday's heavy loss to New Zealand by beating South Africa next weekend.

Two years ago, Scotland followed a 49-3 defeat to the All Blacks with a surprise victory over the Springboks, who were the reigning world champions.

Robinson is confident that his team can repeat that feat in Saturday's EMC Test at Murrayfield.

"We've got some work to do for next week," said Robinson. "We'll face a team that are going to be coming route one at us, a lot of mauling and a lot of kicking the ball in the air. It's a different challenge.

"We've got to show the spirit of 2010, when we were in this position and we corrected it the following week. That's what we'll be looking at.

"We've got six days, but I've got a lot of confidence in the players that we'll be able to turn this around for next week."

Scotland are currently ninth in the world rankings, while South Africa are third.
