Sale Sharks head coach Bryan Redpath has said that he is satisfied with the improved performance his side displayed against the Saracens.

Although Sale lost 23-16, it was an improved performance on the previous 43-6 defeat to Exeter.

"I thought we were a lot better than last week, which was the key thing," said Redpath.

"We lacked a little bit in confidence in certain parts because of last week's drubbing. We needed to get a better performance and I thought we got that for the majority of the game."

Sale's next fixture is a tough trip away to Harlequins.
