Report: Wasps awaiting Frank Halai medical assessment

Frank Halai's switch to Wasps from Super League side Blues depends on the severity of the knee injury he picked up on the weekend, a report claims.

Wasps will reportedly await a full medical report on Frank Halai before completing a move for the injured New Zealand winger.

The Ricoh Arena outfit announced in January that a deal was in place to sign the 26-year-old from Super Rugby side Blues ahead of next season.

However, Halai damaged his knee at the weekend, with the initial diagnosis suggesting that he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament.

A report in the Coventry Telegraph claims that Wasps will now seek further information, as the Tonga-born star faces up to six months on the sidelines.

Wasps finished the 2014-15 campaign sitting in sixth place in the Aviva Premiership table.
