David Humphreys not worried by Gloucester Rugby defeat

Gloucester Rugby coach David Humphreys insists that he is not worried by the 53-6 defeat that his side suffered to Northampton in their opening match of the season.

Gloucester Rugby coach David Humphreys has insisted that he is not worried by his side's opening defeat to Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership.

The West Country outfit were thrashed 53-6 at Franklin's Gardens on Friday as champions Northampton started the defence of their title in style.

Despite the disappointing result for Gloucester, Humphreys is confident that his side can turn things around quickly in the next few weeks.

"Nobody likes to get beaten like that, but we said all through pre-season that we wouldn't know where we are until we've played the first six games of the season," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"At that point we'll know much better where we are and where we can aspire to be by the end of the season. We know we're much better than that scoreline suggests and now it's down to us to show that."

Gloucester play their first home match of the season next Saturday when they entertain Sale Sharks.
