Scotland international Rory Lamont has announced that he is to retire from professional rugby due to injury.
The Glasgow Warriors utility back has struggled to regain full fitness after suffering a broken leg while on Six Nations duty for Scotland against France last year.
The 30-year-old rejoined the Warriors in December 2011, after spending three years at the club between 2004 and 2007, but made just six appearances before suffering his career-ending injury.
"I'm sad to be retiring from professional rugby but I've been struggling with injury for some time now and it's clear I won't be able to get back to the level I was playing at before," Sky Sports News quotes Lamont as saying.
"It's fantastic to have been at the club during this exciting time and I wish them all the very best for the remaining games this season."
Lamont won 29 caps for Scotland.
