Matty Bowen to leave Wigan Warriors

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane admits that veteran Australian full-back Matty Bowen is likely to leave the club at the end of the season.

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has revealed that full-back Matty Bowen is likely to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Australian, 33, has played 40 times for the Super League side since the start of the last campaign.

However, with a number of options available to him at full-back, Wane admits that Bowen will be surplus to requirements next term.

"I've not had a discussion with him about whether he's going to crack on for next year, but I've heard he might be going around," Wane is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We've got Sam [Tomkins] coming back next year so we're covered but I do like [Bowen]. He's been good for us."

Wigan are back in Super League action on Friday when they welcome Widnes Vikings to the DW Stadium.
