Super League roundup: Wins for Salford Red Devils, St Helens, Warrington Wolves

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Friday's matches in the Super League.

Two tries from Rhys Evans helped Warrington Wolves thrash Castleford Tigers to move up to second in the Super League table this evening.

The home side scored eight tries as they opened up a comfortable lead by half time before extending their advantage after the break.

James Clare and Oliver Holmes scored either side of half time to give Castleford a glimmer of hope, but Warrington responded both times.

Braces from Tommy Makinson, Josh Jones and Shannon McDonnell helped St Helens to a comfortable win over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Sia Soliola was also on the scoresheet for the hosts to help them maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Salford Red Devils survived a strong final 10 minutes from Catalans Dragons to hold on for victory.

A brace from Kevin Locke helped the hosts to a 24-point lead with 20 minutes to play, but Vincent Duport and Ian Henderson cut the deficit for the French late on.

However, Salford's four first-half tries, as well as efforts after the break from Theo Fages and Tony Puletua proved enough for the Red Devils.

Results in full: Salford Red Devils 34-22 Catalans Dragons, St Helens 40-16 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, Warrington Wolves 48-10 Castleford Tigers
