Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott critical despite table-topping win

Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott hits out at his players following their victory at Wakefield in Super League.

Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott has hit out at his side for their performance during Sunday's win over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in Super League.

The Rhinos returned to the top of the table at the weekend as they ran in 11 tries to earn a 58-26 victory against the strugglers at Belle Vue.

However, McDermott believes that his players were guilty of 'disrespecting' the opposition during periods of the match.

"I don't think we were great in the first 40 minutes - our game management at times was terrible and our kicking game at times wasn't great," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"Some of our decisions to pass almost look a bit disrespectful to the opposition. I thought we were a bit silly in the first half and it didn't need to look like that."

Leeds are back in Super League action on Thursday when they will host Castleford Tigers.
