Paul Anderson happy with Huddersfield Giants squad

Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson believes that his squad is capable of challenging for the Super League title this season.

Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson has claimed that his improved squad is capable of Super League glory this season.

The Giants have signed four new players in recent weeks, including duo Craig Huby and Jamie Ellis from Castleford Tigers.

After seeing his side fall short in the playoffs last term, Anderson believes that they can make better title challengers during the 2015-16 campaign.

"I think we've got a lot more depth and balance and I think that's going to be key this year," he told Sky Sports News. "With just 23 rounds to get yourselves where you need to be, the intensity is going to be there every week.

"After 23 rounds, we have to be in the top four to be in with a chance of winning the Grand Final. With what we've achieved over the last few years, top four is the minimum standard for us.

"We've got genuine competition for places - not one person is guaranteed an easy path into the team. We've got three genuine strike back-rowers, three genuine wingers and plenty of people who can play all over."

Huddersfield start their Super League campaign at home to Hull FC on February 8.
