England coach Steve McNamara names eight uncapped players

England coach Steve McNamara names eight uncapped players for the upcoming International Series, including Super League's top try scorer Jermaine McGillvary.

England head coach Steve McNamara has named eight uncapped players in his 24-man squad for the upcoming International Series against France and New Zealand.

Among them are Huddersfield Giants' Jermaine McGillvary and Wigan Warriors' George Williams, Super League's top try scorer and young player of the year respectively.

Uncapped John Bateman and Joe Burgess join teammate Williams, along with Warrington Wolves forward Ben Currie, Castleford Tigers half-back Luke Gale, and St George Illawarra Dragons forward Mike Cooper.

Wigan's Sean O'Loughlin will captain the side.

England will kick off the International Series against France at Leigh Sports Village on October 24.
