Half-Time Report: Young Boys holding Monaco to stalemate

Young Boys and Monaco play out an uneventful and goalless opening 45 minutes in their Champions League third qualifying round clash in Bern.

Young Boys and AS Monaco have played out a goalless opening 45 minutes in the first leg of their Champions League third qualifying round.

Chances were sparse throughout the half, but it was the visitors who looked the more likely of the two sides in the opening stages, with a number of testing crosses needing to be dealt with by the Swiss side's defence.

The hosts did have a rare shot on target 20 minutes in when Miralem Sulejmani let fly from range, but Danijel Subasic was on hand to make a comfortable stop.

The best chance of the half did not arrive until two minutes before the interval, but even then Raphael Nuzzolo could not hit the target as he nodded Sulejmani's cross well wide.

Yvon Mvogo had very little to do in the Young Boys goal, with the extent of his action involving claiming a couple of crosses and watching a late effort fly over his crossbar.
