Dean Saunders 'not walking out' on Wolverhampton Wanderers

Dean Saunders insists that he will work hard at Wolverhampton Wanderers if they are relegated to bring back "happy Sundays" to Molineux.

Dean Saunders has insisted that he is committed to Wolverhampton Wanderers with the club on the cusp of successive relegation.

Yesterday's defeat at home to Burnley sees the club rooted in the bottom three of the Championship and needing an unlikely set of results on the final day to stay up.

Saunders said: "I have to sort the club out from top to bottom. Whatever happens I am 100% confident I can give the fans some happy Sundays."

Wolves need to win big at Brighton & Hove Albion next Saturday and hope that Barnsley lose at Huddersfield Town and Peterborough United are beaten heavily by Crystal Palace.

Saunders is also aware that relegation could see him lose his job as boss at Molineux.

"You never know do you? With so much money at stake, managers are getting sacked every five minutes," he said.

"But I will get my head down, work my hardest and try my best. That is all you can do. Sorting this club out will be tough but I have got to do it."

Saunders, 48, was also relegated with Doncaster Rovers last season and if Wolves go down, the two will swap places after Donny achieved promotion from League One yesterday.
