Kenny Jackett critical of Wolverhampton Wanderers display

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett describes his side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Peterborough United as "very average".

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has admitted that his side must improve before the start of the Championship campaign.

Equalising goals from Leon Clarke and David Edwards ensured that Wolves maintained their unbeaten pre-season record with a 2-2 draw at Peterborough United, but Jackett was quick to criticise his team's display at London Road.

The 52-year-old told the club's official website: "I thought that we were very average and could do a lot better and play a lot better, particularly in that first hour.

"We livened up towards the end but I didn't think that we showed anywhere near enough desire and hunger – we have set higher standards than that and can play a lot better.

"That is my accurate assessment of what I have seen tonight, I wouldn't say it was poor but it was a very average performance."

Wolves continue their pre-season preparations with a match against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
