Wigan Athletic are unable to train after 48 footballs were stolen from their training ground.

Wigan Athletic were unable to train briefly on Thursday after 48 footballs were stolen from their training ground, according to The Mirror.

Manager Roberto Martinez had to send his players on a jog while replacements were gathered.

It is believed that a gate was left open at the facility, allowing thieves to make away with the balls.

Wigan, who are currently ninth in the Premier League, face a trip to Everton on Saturday.
