Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan believes that Roberto Martinez will soon land one of the top jobs in European football.

Martinez has continuously been praised for pulling the Latics out of relegation trouble in recent years and Whelan has stated that his work has not gone unnoticed.

"Roberto will be the manager of one of the top three clubs in Europe, I don't think there's any doubt about that," Whelan told reporters.

Martinez has previously managed Swansea City.
