Jean Beausejour misses the best chance for Wigan Athletic, who head into the break with Stoke City level.

Neither Wigan Athletic or Stoke City were able to find the net during the first half at the DW Stadium.

Ryan Shawcross went close to breaking the deadlock for Stoke in the opening exchanges, but his headed effort from a Matthew Etherington cross was cleared off the line.

Up the other end, Franco Di Santo was unable to give Wigan the lead as his effort from close range was parried to safety by Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The best chance of the half fell to Wigan in the 38th minute when Victor Moses drilled over a cross for Jean Beausejour, who failed to convert from four yards out.

A victory for Roberto Martinez's Wigan could lift them out of the relegation zone.
