West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna expected to return for Burnley clash

West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna is likely to return to the squad for Saturday's Premier League fixture with Burnley.

West Ham United boss David Moyes has indicated that Angelo Ogbonna will return to his squad for the Premier League fixture with Burnley.

Ogbonna has established himself as a key member of Moyes's squad since the Scot arrived at the London Stadium in November, but the Italian international was absent as the Hammers tamely succumbed to a 4-1 defeat at Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

However, Moyes is hopeful that he will be able to include the centre-back - who has started 30 games during the current campaign - in his starting lineup for the home clash with Burnley this weekend.

The 54-year-old is quoted by football.london as saying: "Angelo Ogbonna was an illness, so he shouldn't be out too long."

West Ham will head into the fixture at the London Stadium in 14th place in the standings, providing that Crystal Palace do not defeat Manchester United on Monday night.
