Ashley Williams out of Wales squad

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams withdraws from the Wales squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers due to an ankle injury.

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams has been forced to pull out of the Wales squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers due to an ankle injury.

The centre-back is the 10th withdrawal for manager Chris Coleman ahead of the matches against Macedonia and Belgium.

Williams recently claimed that his club manager Michael Laudrup was eager for him to sit out the fixtures in order to fully recover from the problem.

Wales are currently bottom of Group A and have no chance of reaching the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
