Wales continue rise up FIFA world rankings

Wales continue to climb the FIFA world rankings to occupy their highest-ever position of eighth.

Wales have reached a record high of eighth place in the latest FIFA world rankings.

The Dragons have moved above ninth-placed Chile and now find themselves nine points behind Brazil in seventh and two places ahead of England, who themselves remain in 10th place.

Chris Coleman's side remain in the top 10 after continuing their unbeaten qualification campaign for Euro 2016.

They currently top Group B and could secure their place at next summer's tournament in France next week in their final two qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Andorra.

Elsewhere, Northern Ireland have risen six places to 35th, while Scotland have dropped to 40th, having been 31st last time out.

Argentina remain the number one side in the world, while Germany have moved up to second ahead of Belgium, with Portugal behind them in fourth after rising two places.

Colombia complete the top five, with Spain five points adrift of them in sixth.
