Two quickfire second-half goals from Dirk Kuyt and Bilal Basacikoglu have seen Feyenoord claim a 2-0 win over Vitesse in their Eredivisie clash at De Kuip.
The game began slowly, with the first concrete chance not coming until the 24th minute when Terence Kongolo's cross was met by the head of Lex Immers, but the ball was easily caught by Eloy Room.
Vitesse then fashioned a good effort in the 34th minute through Milot Rashida, who bore down on goal and forced a good save out of Kenneth Vermeer.
The second half saw both sides trade blows early on, but Feyenoord were given the chance to open the scoring from the spot when Guram Kashia's foul in the box prompted the referee to award the visitors a penalty.
Kuyt stepped up and duly converted his penalty to give his side the lead, and just two minutes later the Rotterdam giants made it two when Basacikoglu collected a pass from the ex-Liverpool striker and fired home to wrap up the points.
