Southampton brush aside Feyenoord

Graziano Pelle, Maya Yoshida and Juanmi each find the net as Southampton claim a 3-0 win over Feyenoord at De Kuip.

Southampton have secured their third win in succession on their tour of the Netherlands by beating Feyenoord 3-0 at De Kuip.

The Saints made a positive start to the contest, but the closest they came to making an early breakthrough was when Terence Kongolo's misplaced clearance was pushed aside by Kenneth Vermeer.

Home supporters were then left unhappy after Bilal Basacikoglu saw his appeals for a penalty waved away when going down under the challenge of Maya Yoshida.

Graziano Pelle was able to tap the Premier League side in front prior to the interval on his return to Feyenoord after Dusan Tadic laid the ball on a plate for his teammate.

It was Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men who just about edged the start of the second period, yet Yoshida headed home a Steven Davis free kick on the hour to double Southampton's advantage.

Both Pelle and Jordy Clasie left the field to strong applause, and it was replacement Juanmi who sealed things when firing into the bottom corner from the edge of the box late on.
