Hellas Verona put four past Bologna

Hellas Verona plunge Bologna into the Serie A relegation zone with a 4-1 win at the Stadio Renata Dall'Ara.

Hellas Verona have heaped more misery on Bologna boss Stefano Piolo after recoding a 4-1 victory at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in Serie A.

The match was delayed by 25 minutes after Verona were caught in traffic on their way to the stadium, but still managed to start brightly and took the lead early on.

Fabrizio Cacciatore was the man who broke the deadlock and in style, shifting inside before finding the far corner with a measured drive from 20 yards.

Juan Manuel Iturbe then doubled Verona's advantage six minutes later, beating three defenders as he created space to smash home.

Piolo brought on Davide Moscardelli and Diego Laxalt to engineer a response and was rewarded early in the second half, with Alessandro Diamanti scoring from the penalty spot.

Verona quickly regained control, though, and restored their two-goal cushion just five minutes later through Luca Toni, who tapped home after fine approach play in the box from Iturbe.

In stoppage time Verona added a fourth to make absolutely sure of an eye-catching away win, with Jorginho curling home on the counter.
