Valencia scored two goals in the opening seven minutes to help them on their way towards a 4-2 win over Getafe in La Liga this evening.
The hosts made a perfect start to the match by taking the lead in the very first minute. Sofiane Feghouli put a high cross into the Getafe box that Roberto Soldado rose highest to meet and put past the keeper.
They doubled this lead just six minutes later when Soldado turned provider, finding Jonas in the box, allowing the Brazilian to curl an effort past Miguel Moya.
Getafe completed a frantic opening 15 minutes to the match by getting a goal back courtesy of Alvaro's chipped finish.
The hosts restored their two-goal advantage on the half-hour mark, however, as Ricardo Costa met a corner to thump his header into the back of the net.
They could have made it four shortly before half time, but Andres Guardado somehow put his effort wide from close range.
Valencia came even closer to extending their lead 10 minutes into the second half as Soldado and Jonas once again linked up, but the latter's effort came back off the post.
It was Getafe who were to get the next goal, however, as Diego Alves failed to claim a cross into the box, allowing Alexis to head in.
The hosts controlled the ball in the closing stages and put the result beyond all doubt with a goal in the 94th minute courtesy of Nelson Valdez's close-range finish.
