Preview: Valencia vs. Getafe

Sports Mole previews Friday's La Liga clash between Valencia and Getafe at the Mestalla.

Valencia welcome high-flyers Getafe to the Mestalla on Friday looking to recover from their defeat against Rayo Vallecano last time out.

The shock defeat left the club in 11th position in the table with just 21 points from 16 matches, but they would temporarily move into the top half with the three points in their final league match before the winter break.

Getafe, meanwhile, have lost just one of their last five matches in all competitions, a run of form that has seen them occupy seventh spot in the table, just four points outside of a Champions League position.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 3-1 win for Valencia, but Getafe did pick up all the points in the last clash between the two sides on their own turf.

Aly Cissokho is expected to come into the Valencia team at the expense of Pablo Piatti with Ernesto Valverde reverting to a back four. Meanwhile, Getafe have a fully-fit squad to choose from and could name the same side that started in the draw with Osasuna last weekend.

Recent form

Valencia: LWWWL

Sports Mole says: 2-1
