Preview: Valencia vs. Lille

Sports Mole previews the Champions League Group F clash between Valencia and Lille on Tuesday.

Valencia welcome Lille to the Mestalla on Tuesday with both sides struggling for consistency in the early parts of their respective domestic campaigns.

The Spanish outfit have picked up two wins from six league games to occupy 10th spot in La Liga. In their opening Champions League Group F match last month , they went down 2-1 to Bayern Munich.

Lille have not fared much better, securing just one win in Ligue 1 thus far this season. They have not picked up a single victory in their last five competitive matches.

Their 3-1 home defeat to BATE Borisov on matchday one was arguably the shock result of the competition thus far.

Valencia recorded a 3-1 victory the last time the pair clashed in the Europa League in 2009 and they have won each of their last seven home games against French opposition.

Valencia will definitely be without the services of Ricardo Costa, Jeremy Mathieu, David Albelda and Pablo Piatti for the encounter.

Meanwhile, Lille will have a late check on the fitness of attacking duo Salomon Kalou and Marvin Martin.

Recent form:

Valencia: WLLWL
Lille: LDLDL

Possible lineups:

Valencia: Guaita; Pereira, Rami, Ruiz, Cissokho; Feghouli, Costa, Gago, Viera; Jonas, Soldado

Lille: Landreau; Beria, Basa, Chedjou, Digne; Mendes, Pedretti, Mavuba, Gueye, Payet; Roux

Sports Mole says: 2-1
