The buzz around a potential new teammate for Max Verstappen in 2025 continues to grow, with rising talk of Franco Colapinto joining Red Bull.

Rumours about Sergio Perez's uncertain future at Red Bull have circulated throughout the season, although Perez managed a more impressive sprint to P8 at Interlagos on Saturday, even recording the fastest lap.

"It's not about one result," team principal Christian Horner told Viaplay.

"We need both drivers. McLaren has two drivers at the front, and Ferrari had that last weekend as well. We need both cars at the front. Checo knows that too."

Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko stated on Friday that Perez is safe in his seat at least until the Abu Dhabi finale, but Horner emphasized, "There is no deadline" on any decision.

On Saturday, Marko admitted to Sky Deutschland, "Nothing is set in stone at the moment. Let's see how things develop."

Rumours intensified at Interlagos when Horner was seen leaving Williams' hospitality area, leading to speculation about his interest not only in Franco Colapinto but potentially Carlos Sainz as well.

Argentinian journalist and former racer Ruben Daray added to the intrigue by claiming that 21-year-old Colapinto has already signed a deal to replace Perez at Red Bull.

Colapinto's manager Jamie Campbell-Walter reportedly replied to the social media post with a hint of amusement, saying, "Funny that you know before me."

Adding to the suspense, Red Bull Argentina's official social media account responded with several eye emojis.

Horner has openly acknowledged his admiration for Colapinto.

"We have to keep an eye on the driver market," he remarked in Brazil. "I think Franco has the qualities to be a potential star of the future."

He went on to mention other rising talents: "He is one of this new generation of talents like Liam Lawson, who is also doing a great job. Oliver Bearman has done a great job again this weekend. They've stepped in and done a great job so far."

Horner added, "Franco is a great driver, and he has a lot of support, especially here. Our priority is our two drivers, but you have to be aware of other drivers as well."
