Valencia 4-0 Osasuna

Valencia score four goals in the last 10 minutes to close in on third spot in La Liga.

Valencia have moved a step closer to securing third spot in La Liga by beating 10-man Osasuna 4-0 this evening.

Neither side could find a way past the opposition defence in a fairly uneventful opening 45 minutes.

The main highlight of the first half came in stoppage time when the visitors were reduced to 10 men after Dejan Lekic, who had already been booked, was given his marching orders.

Despite their numerical advantage, Valencia struggled to break Osasuna down for much of the second half. However, the deadlock was finally broken with less than 10 minutes to go when Aritz Aduriz Zubeldia converted having been found by Jordi Alba.

The hosts then put the game beyond doubt in the 86th minute when Jonas doubled their lead. The third goal came just minutes later, Aduriz grabbing his second of the match.

The late flurry of goals was completed in stoppage time as Jonas also notched his second of the game to give Valencia what turned out to be a comprehensive 4-0 win.

The result means that Valencia stay third in La Liga, now three points ahead of Malaga with just two games left, while Osasuna remain ninth.
