Preview: FK AS Trencin vs. Hull City

Sports Mole previews Hull City's European debut against FK AS Trencin in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.

Hull City will play the first European match in their history on Thursday evening, when they face FK AS Trencin in the first leg of their Europa League third qualifying-round clash.

The Tigers will advance to the playoff round of the competition if they can overcome the Slovakian outfit. Steve Bruce's side have qualified for Europe after finishing as runners-up in the FA Cup last season.

Trencin, who finished second in the Slovak Super Liga last term, secured their tie against the Premier League side after beating FK Vojvodina 4-3 on aggregate in the second qualifying round.

Trancin coach Martin Sevela will be hoping that his side can improve on their second leg showing against Vojvodina, when they lost 3-0.

Bruce is expected to hand competitive debuts to summer signings Thomas Ince and Robert Snodgrass, while Shane Long could start up front.

Maynor Figueroa and Nikica Jelavic are unlikely to feature, after the pair were granted extended breaks following their exploits at the World Cup in Brazil.
