Ronaldinho: 'I am not retiring'

Former Brazil international Ronaldinho insists that he will continue in the professional game, with his future to be decided next month.

Former Brazil international Ronaldinho has insisted that he is not considering retirement despite being without a club since last year.

The 35-year-old, who was twice named the World Player of the Year, departed Fluminense in September, but represented his former club in a charity match in the United States earlier this week.

A return to Fluminense is not on the cards, but the attacker has revealed that he is not finished in the professional game and will decide his future after celebrating the Rio carnival next month.

"There is a lots to come in 2016. I'll decide what to do next after carnival. For now, I plan to travel the world to promote football but now is not the time to stop. I will play for a little longer," Ronaldinho told reporters.

"It felt good to feel the affection of the fans [in USA]. It made me very happy. Now I have to get on with my life and do my best to repay what they have given me."

Ronaldinho has been linked with a number of European clubs in recent months, with Swiss outfit Sion believed to hold a strong interest.
