Joe Allen thinks that playing Brazil in a friendly was great preparation for the Olympics.

Team GB's Joe Allen has said that the 2-0 friendly defeat to Brazil was "perfect preparation" for the team to be ready when their Olympics football tournament kicks off on Thursday.

Although Team GB failed to impress against Brazil, Allen believes that playing against the very best will prepare the squad for the challenges ahead.

"It was an experience you won't forget and, I think, great preparation for us going into our first group game against Senegal," BBC Sport quotes Allen as saying.

"This is the test we needed and from a fitness point of view I think this is going to be perfect preparation for our first group game."

Great Britain will face Senegal, the United Arab Emirates and Uruguay in Group A of the Olympics football tournament.
