Paolo Di Canio: 'I will pay for Swindon Town signings'

Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio reveals that he is ready to invest his own money in players to strengthen his squad.

Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio has revealed that he is ready to pay from his own pocket to sign players in January.

The club's chairman Sir William Patey has told the Italian that there are no funds available to reinforce his squad for the second half of the season.

"I will put my own money in to keep [John Bostock, Chris Martin and Danny Hollands]," BBC Sport quotes Di Canio as saying.

"I will spend £20,000 or £30,000 and put my money in to keep them for as long as we can, because I care and I want to win. I'm sure with them we have more chance to win.

"I'm not going to start selling my houses in Italy, but I want to keep those players. When I die I will have a bit less money but will have the victory as a manager. I've spent big money on solicitors in the past; you can imagine what I would spend on my players."

Swindon are currently fifth in the League One table.
