Swansea City have reportedly handed additional transfer funds to manager Carlos Carvalhal to boost the club's prospects of avoiding relegation.
The Portuguese coach has been given an extra £10m by the team's US owners Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien, taking his January spending power to £30m, according to WalesOnline.
The news comes amid reports that the Swans are close to signing Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder Nicolas Gaitan and re-signing Andre Ayew from West Ham United.
Swansea were recently linked with Gaitan's teammate Kevin Gameiro, but talks with the Frenchman are said to have broken down.
The Welsh outfit are bottom of the Premier League, four points from a position of safety, and are yet to bring in any new faces during the current transfer window.
