Federico Fernandez has been named on the bench for Swansea City's Premier League meeting with West Bromwich Albion.
The Argentine has missed the last three games after returning home following the death of his father.
Fernandez played an hour for the Under-23s on Thursday night and, although he was expected to return against Manchester City next week, the defender is among the substitutes against the Baggies.
Swansea manager Paul Clement has also dropped top goalscorer Tammy Abraham to the bench as Wilfried Bony starts as the lone striker.
Nathan Dyer returns to the starting line-up in Abraham's place, along with Tom Carroll, Roque Mesa and Wayne Routledge.
Jordan Ayew, Sam Clucas and Leroy Fer are the men who make way in a total of four changes from the defeat at Stoke City.
Alan Pardew has made just one enforced change as Gareth Barry misses out entirely with a thigh injury and Claudio Yacob comes in to replace the veteran midfielder.
