Swansea City boss Garry Monk has revealed that he is pleased with the point that his side earned against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Swans played the final 10 minutes with 10 men at the Stadium of Light after Angel Rangel was sent off, but they held on to come away with a share of the spoils in the Premier League encounter.
While admitting that his players did not perform to the usual standards, Monk is satisfied by how hard they battled.
"If you look at the game overall we weren't at our fluid best, but the next best thing after that is to defend well and make sure you don't get beat," he told the club's official website.
"We've played very well this season, but we know we can't play our best every single game. We're disappointed that we weren't at our best, but I'm pleased with the point and the character we showed."
Swansea return to action next Saturday when they host Newcastle United in the Premier League.
