Saturday's League One predictions including Bristol Rovers vs. Wrexham

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Bristol Rovers vs. Wrexham.

Bristol Rovers vs. Wrexham (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Relegation-threatened Bristol Rovers will begin life without manager Matt Taylor on Saturday when they host high-flying Wrexham in a League One clash at Memorial Stadium.

Rovers sacked Taylor earlier this week after a 2-0 defeat at Birmingham City left them only two points above the relegation zone, but things do not get any easier for interim boss David Horseman this weekend as promotion-chasing Wrexham come to town.

We say: Bristol Rovers 0-2 Wrexham

With the Gas struggling to create many opportunities of late, it is difficult to see them scoring against League One's strongest defence.

On the other hand, Wrexham are in the hunt for promotion this season and are at risk of falling behind in the title race unless they pick up all three points, so expect Parkinson's side to make up for their draw last time out with a win on Saturday.

Lincoln vs. Reading (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Lincoln City play host to Reading on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that would take them level on points with their opponents.

These two sides sit in ninth and sixth position respectively in the League One table, albeit cut adrift of the top three.

We say: Lincoln City 2-0 Reading

Although Lincoln are very much out of form, we cannot ignore that Reading are still getting to grips with life under Hunt. With that in mind, we are backing the home side to edge this contest in the latter stages.

Barnsley vs. Leyton Orient (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to move back into the top six in the League One table, Barnsley will welcome Leyton Orient to Oakwell on Saturday.

The hosts moved within a point of sixth spot with a return to winning ways last weekend, while their visitors have climbed to 18th place with an improved run.

We say: Barnsley 1-0 Leyton Orient

A resurgent Leyton Orient side will certainly pose a tough test for Barnsley, especially given their impressive record at the back, but with home advantage we see Clarke's men having enough to end the O's' run of clean sheets and take all three points on Saturday.

Blackpool vs. Stevenage (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackpool play host to Stevenage on Saturday afternoon looking to continue their surge up the League One table.

At a time when the Seasiders sit in 10th position in the standings, the visitors to Bloomfield Road are one point behind in 12th place.

We say: Blackpool 1-1 Stevenage

With these two teams both very much in form and ready to chase down the top six, this is a difficult match to call. Although Blackpool deserve to be regarded as the favourites, we are backing Stevenage to earn what could prove to be an invaluable share of the spoils come the end of the season.

Burton Albion vs. Exeter (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Burton Albion square off against Exeter City on Saturday afternoon with Gary Bowyer looking to make an immediate impression as the club's new head coach.

At a time when the Brewers sit nine points adrift of safety, the visitors are five points clear of the League One relegation zone.

We say: Burton Albion 1-2 Exeter City

With this the start of yet another new era for Burton, Bowyer will be eager to make an immediate impact. However, regardless of their own poor form, we feel that the visitors to the Pirelli Stadium have the qualities to edge this contest by the odd goal in three.

Mansfield vs. Rotherham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides moving in opposite directions in the League One table will meet in an important contest on Saturday, as Mansfield Town welcome Rotherham United to the One Call Stadium.

The hosts have dropped down to 11th spot in the midst of a seven-match winless streak, while their visitors have climbed within touching distance of the top half with back-to-back wins.

We say: Mansfield Town 1-2 Rotherham United

Rotherham United appear to be hitting their stride and showing their quality after a tough start, while Mansfield Town are quickly sliding down the League One table, and we back the Millers to prevail at the weekend as a result and continue their climb.

Northampton vs. Charlton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

At risk of relegation this season, Northampton Town are set to host Charlton Athletic at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday in League One.

Both sides are in poor form ahead of this weekend's clash, though the Cobblers have lost their last two games while the Addicks did at least manage a draw last time out against Mansfield Town.

We say: Northampton Town 0-2 Charlton Athletic

Neither side are in the best form at the moment, but Charlton's superior defence may make it difficult for the Cobblers to create chances.

Additionally, given the nature of the hosts' back-to-back losses going into this weekend's clash, it is difficult to see anything other than another defeat for Northampton on Saturday.

Wigan vs. Shrewsbury (Saturday, 3.00pm)

In Shaun Maloney's 100th game as boss, Wigan Athletic are set to host Gareth Ainsworth's relegation-threatened Shrewsbury Town at the Brick Community Stadium on Saturday in League One.

Wigan come into the clash with confidence after a derby victory over Bolton Wanderers last time out, while Shrewsbury are on a run of three straight defeats.

We say: Wigan Athletic 2-0 Shrewsbury Town

Wigan's victory over their rivals should see them come into this weekend's clash with renewed confidence, and their defensive resilience should prevent Shrewsbury from finding the back of the net.

Additionally, given the Shrews' own poor defensive record, it is difficult to see anything other than a comfortable victory for Latics on Saturday.
