Sunderland are reportedly preparing a £6m January move for Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida.
The centre-back was strongly linked with a move to the Stadium of Light in the summer, but Sunderland were believed to be unprepared to meet Dynamo's asking price of £10m.
According to The Mirror, the Black Cats remain interested in the Croatian international and believe that a bid of £6m would be enough to convince the Ukrainian club to sell at the start of 2017.
Vida, 27, who started three of Croatia's four matches at Euro 2016, has a contract at Dynamo until 2018.
