Sunderland youngster James McClean vows to keep working hard after making his debut last weekend.

Sunderland youngster James McClean has vowed to continue improving after making his debut last weekend.

The Northern Irish winger impressed as he came off the bench in the 2-1 win over Blackburn and he has insisted that he will continue to work hard.

"My mindset won't change. I always try to improve every week and will continue doing that," McClean told Sunderland's official website.

"I've made my debut but it's just one game and I have to keep getting better. We can look forward to Spurs with confidence. My debut is out of the way now and hopefully I can carry on playing."

McClean arrived at Sunderland from Derry City in the summer.
