Joselu has insisted that he has "different characteristics" to Lucas Perez as the on-loan Stoke City forward looks to make an impact at Deportivo La Coruna this season.
Joselu made the move to Depor last week after the La Liga side sanctioned the sale of Perez to Arsenal.
The 26-year-old has played down suggestions that he will directly replace Perez in the first team, but is hopeful that he will have a similar impact in La Coruna after returning to Spanish football.
"I do not want to come here to replace Perez," Joselu told reporters. "We each have our own different characteristics and I hope to score many goals."
Joselu, who has previously represented Celta Vigo and Real Madrid, joined Stoke from Hannover 96 last summer, but only scored four Premier League goals during his first season with the Potters.
