Kenwyne Jones: No "tension" in Stoke City dressing room

Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones insists that there are no ill-feelings between him and his teammates following his angry reaction to a prank.

Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones has insisted that there is no "tension" between him and his teammates despite the club launching an internal investigation into prank-related incidents.

Reports have emerged that a Potters player put a pig's head in Jones's locker and the striker retaliated by breaking midfielder Glenn Whelan's car's windscreen.

However, the Trinidad and Tobago international has insisted the incident is behind them and that there are no ill-feelings in the dressing room.

He wrote on Twitter: "First off for all the people saying this had anything to do with racism, I'm not endorsing that. Secondly, I've apologised to Glenn Whelan for the destruction of his property, for all the people that think I did Michael Owen's car, I didn't.

"I just posted the pictures of it, I was never involved in any of the pranks in the dressing room.

"As far as tension in the squad, there's none. Myself and Whelan had our thrash out and he said it wasn't him so I apologised and I'm paying for it."

Stoke travel to Southampton tomorrow in their final game of the season.
