Mark Hughes: 'Stoke City can continue progression'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes reveals that he hopes to lead the club into Europe in the coming seasons.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes believes that his side deserve to achieve their highest points tally in the Premier League this season.

With two games remaining, the Potters sit on 50 points - the same total that they registered last campaign - and ahead of their final fixtures, Hughes has insisted that the club have the potential to continue their progression over the coming years.

The 51-year-old told reporters: "I would say that it's been an even better season than last year, given the nature and amount of injuries we've had to contend with.

"I'm really enjoying it here. I have a real good feeling about this place and feel there is even more room for us to progress.

"I would love to take the club into Europe if possible; that is an obvious target for us."

Stoke travel to Burnley on Saturday afternoon before they end the season with a home contest against Liverpool.
